Standard builds are completed within 5–10 working days depending on hub and spoke availability. Express builds may be possible — ask us via WhatsApp. Collection is from Basement 983, Olivedale, or we can arrange courier delivery.

The standard hub uses a 36T star ratchet, which gives 10° of engagement — meaning the pedals travel 10° before drive kicks in. The 60T upgrade tightens that to 6°, giving near-instant power transfer. It's particularly noticeable on technical climbs and sprint efforts. The upgrade costs R1,000 and is available on RS240, GSL241, GSL241 SL, and CS180 SL hubs. It is NOT compatible with the RS180 hub.

We recommend a full service once a year — spoke tension check, rim true, hub service, and tubeless refresh. If you're riding over 5,000km per year or racing regularly, consider a tension check every 6 months. A service at Basement 983 takes a few hours and protects years of investment. Book via WhatsApp.

PLUS hubs are designed to be serviceable. That said, incorrect service can damage the hub or void warranty. We recommend bringing your wheels to Basement 983 where we use the correct tools and original PLUS components. Hub service is quick and affordable.

Most Plus Aero wheelsets are rated to 120kg total system weight (rider + bike + kit). The exception is the RS180 ultralight hub build, which is rated to 80kg. Always ride within the stated limit — exceeding it voids the warranty and risks structural failure.

Yes — all Plus Aero wheelsets are tubeless ready. You'll need tubeless-compatible tyres, valves, and sealant. We can set up tubeless for you at Basement 983 as part of a service, or supply what you need. We recommend refreshing sealant every 3–6 months.

Plus Aero wheelsets carry a 2-year structural warranty covering material and manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. Warranty does not cover crash damage, impact damage, normal wear and tear (bearings, freehub body), or damage caused by improper use or maintenance. To make a claim, WhatsApp us with your proof of purchase and photos of the issue.

Be careful. Car exhaust temperatures can reach 500°C — carbon starts to deform at around 200°C. Always ensure there is significant clearance between your wheels and the exhaust pipe when using a rear-mounted carrier. Heat damage is not covered under warranty.

Stop riding immediately if a spoke has broken or if the wheel is significantly out of true. A broken spoke puts excessive load on neighbouring spokes and the rim. Bring it to Basement 983 as soon as possible. WhatsApp us first and we'll assess whether it's safe to ride in the meantime.
